Car details can usually last between 2-3 hours depending on the size of the car and how many people are attending the vehicle.
For larger cars like trucks or vans, you may see times get closer to 3 hours, or even 4 depending on the add-ons you select.
The number of add-ons that are purchased will also strongly influence how long the detail will take, especially if paint protection, paint enhancement, or clay bar treatments are involved.
Though some of the add-ons are self-explanatory, like a car seat clean, there are others that aren't so obvious.
A polish typically includes an initial buffing of paint using compound followed by polish. This gives the car a nice shine, and typically buffs away small scratches and swirls.
A wax is usually applied AFTER a polish. It protects the paint, and typically gives it a long-lasting, warm glossy look. It also makes cleaning your car easier, the dirt and grime come right off!
Clay bar treatments are typically done with paint jobs that are starting to get rough, or prior to a 2 step polish. It helps get out impurities in the paint that would normally not come out through a normal wash. If you polish your vehicle without a clay bar treatment, you may be pushing harmful particles deeper into your paint.
We use the latest tools to make sure no harm comes to your car. Towels, rags, and other washing equipment are washed regularly. For exterior detailing, we use a multi-bucket system to ensure that dirt from one part of the car isn't being rubbed on the rest of the car.
Unfortunately, there are times where dirt is left on the vehicle and may be rubbed in. To prevent hard to fix scratches, we scrub in straight lines to minimize swirls, and to make it easier to polish up should the client choose to use a polish as well.
The methods we use are much safer than any typical car wash.
